Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Posts Biggest Opening in IMAX History

June 29, 2009--IMAX Corporation today announced that the Paramount Pictures release Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: The IMAX Experience, directed by Michael Bay and featuring scenes filmed with IMAX cameras, posted exceptionally strong opening results, with an estimated $14.4 million coming from 169 IMAX theaters domestically, for a per screen average of over $85,000 during the five-day opening from Wednesday, June 24, through Sunday, June 28. The IMAX release contributed more than 7 percent of the film's $201 million total on less than 2 percent of the screens.

IMAX Appoints Gary Moss Chief Operating Officer

June 25, 2009--IMAX Corporation today announced the appointment of Gary Moss to the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer, effective July 20, 2009. Euromax Meeting in Copenhagen Focuses on Digital Technology

June 25, 2009--The summer meeting of EUROMAX on June 14-15, 2009, was hosted by the Tycho Brahe Planetarium in Copenhagen, Denmark. The Tycho Brahe Planetarium is situated in Copenhagen’s city center and is Denmark's most advanced center for popularizing astronomy and space research and promoting knowledge of natural science. IMAX Announces Full Exercise of Over-allotment Option

June 25, 2009--IMAX Corporation announced today that the underwriter of its recently completed public offering has exercised in full its option to purchase an additional 1,470,000 common shares at the public offering price of $7.15 per share. The exercise of the over-allotment option brings the total number of common shares sold by IMAX in the offering to 11,270,000. Including proceeds from the exercise of the over-allotment option, gross proceeds for the offering are expected to be approximately $80.6 million.

IMAX Signs Two-Theater Deal with Aliance

June 24, 2009--IMAX Corporation and Aliance Entertainment, an Indiana-based exhibitor, today announced an agreement to install IMAX theaters in two of the exhibitor's new multiplex developments planned for later this year. Under the terms of the sales agreement, Aliance Entertainment will install IMAX's new digital projection system at its new flagship location in Simpsonville, South Carolina, and a second location in the Northeastern United States, both during the fourth quarter of 2009. The exhibitor operates its theaters under the Great Escape Theatres brand.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Posts Strong International Opening Results in IMAX

June 22, 2009--IMAX Corporation, Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks Pictures today announced that Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: The IMAX Experience, directed by Michael Bay and featuring scenes filmed with IMAX cameras, posted strong international opening results, with an estimated $510,000 coming from 10 IMAX theaters, for a per screen average of $51,000 during the weekend from Friday June 19 through Sunday June 21. The international IMAX release included three new IMAX digital locations in Japan. The new 109 Cinemas IMAX Theatre in the city of Kawasaki ranked as the highest-grossing screen in the country for the film's launch, generating over $81,000 for the weekend. The film is scheduled to open in a record 169 IMAX theaters domestically, in conjunction with the film's nationwide release in conventional theaters on June 24, and will ultimately play on 230 IMAX screens worldwide.
