What Makes a Good Image on the Giant Screen?

The image on the screen is never better than the image you started with. The image quality can be compromised every step of the way--from image capture through projection. In this session we'll take a look at some of the factors that affect the quality of the image you see on the giant screen.

How does shooting in vistavision 35mm, scanning at 6k, and outputting in 3D at 5.6k meet the giant screen standard?

New and Improved 3D Camera Systems
Presenter: Sean Phillips, MacLeod Productions
Director/DP Sean Phillips presents some of the 3D camera systems he and other filmmakers have been using in the past year, including: lightweight beam splitter rigs for Phantom 65 and Phantom 2K, the new Sony HDC P1, 4k 2000 ASA Red One, Epic, and more; underwater and splash housings for the Gemini camera; use of Gemini in set extensions to retain highest resolutions.
