The following presenters will speak at GSCA's The Greater Potential of Giant Screen Experiences: Connecting Society with Science Symposium

Dr. Alice Apley, RMC Research, MA, USA
An anthropologist and filmmaker, she has worked in educational film and television. She holds a Ph.D. in Anthropology from New York University and currently conducts social science research for RMC Research Corporation.

Randy Atkins, National Academy of Engineering, MD, USA

Senior Program Officer for Media/Public Relations for the NAE, he hosts weekly reports called "Innovative Engineering" on the CBS affiliate all-news format WTOP (FM/AM). He is leading a high-profile effort to engage the public in brainstorming about "Grand Challenges for Engineering."

Dr. Fiona Cameron, University of Western Sydney, Australia
A Research Fellow in Museum and Cultural Heritage Studies at this University's Centre for Cultural Research, her research interests focus on the relationship of the museum with contemporary societies in a globalizing world.

Felice Frankel, Harvard University, MA, USA
A Senior Research Fellow in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University, she heads the Envisioning Science program at Harvard's Initiative in Innovative Computing (IIC). She holds a concurrent appointment as a research scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Beverly Sheppard, Institute for Learning Innovation, MD, USA
Formerly the lead executive at the Institute for Museum and Library Services, and now the President of the Institute for Learning Innovation, she has authored two publications referred to widely in the museum field: "Building Museum and School Partnerships: and "Museums, Libraries, and the 21st Century Learner."

Dr. Jeffrey Sturchio, Vice President, Corporate Responsibility, Merck, NJ, USA
Dr. Sturchio manages a portfolio of activities including the Merck Company Foundation/Corporate Contributions, the Merck Institute for Science Education, the Merck Childhood Asthma Network, global health partnerships (including the Merck MECTIZAN Donation Program), global HIV/AIDS access programs, corporate responsibility reporting, and the Merck Archives.

Ivan Oransky, MD, Managing Editor, Online, Scientific American
Ivan Oransky is the author or co-author of four books and  teaches at the City University of New York's Graduate School of Journalism. He has written for numerous publications, including the Boston Globe, The Lancet, The New Republic, and the Wall Street Journal Online.

Dr. Ann Marie Barry, Boston College, MA, USA
Ann Marie Barry is an interdisciplinary scholar whose chief interest lies in the neurological dynamics of visual perception, visual aesthetics and the personal and cultural influence of film. Her focus on science as a foundation for visual theory promises a firmer foundation both for visual communication research and for the understanding of science in and through media. Dr. Barry joined the Boston College Communication faculty in 1984.

Dr. Lisa Cartwright, UC-San Diego, CA, USA
Lisa Cartwright's is a Professor of Communication and Science Studies and her research interests include film and media studies, feminist and sexuality studies; disability studies; and visual culture in science, health and medicine.
