Ethical Obligation of Committee Members:
- When at any GSCA board, committee, work team or group meeting, the GSCA interest is paramount.
- Committee members should not enter into conflicts of interest in financial matters.
- Follow communication steps outlined in board, committee, work team and group meetings that are in the interest of GSCA.
- To promote the free exchange of ideas, the general business of the GSCA board and opinions expressed by the board members should be kept confidential.
Conference Committee
- Works with staff to plan the main conference content including panels and sessions and keynote speakers (Selects conference theme)
- Works with staff to plan the second annual member event
- Receives conference/event bids and makes recommendations to the board
- Organizes the GSCA Achievement Gala and Awards Presentation
- Organizes all aspects of film submissions, screenings, and technical needs
- Coordinates rehearsals
- Develops conference/event programming to increase the understanding of the giant screen experience with education

- Assist members to maximize ticket sales by brand and film marketing
- Provide a professional development forum for giant screen marketers

- Develops, recommends and communicates membership benefits and services

- Establishes standards for, and methods of, information sharing among members such as industry reporting of attendance figures, production costs, and box-office results

Lifelong Learning Committee
Principal Aims
- Summarize the learning that occurs through giant screen experiences and recommend how this knowledge can be applied.
- Identify how the filmmaking process can optimally plan for desired and unexpected learning outcomes based on published research and collected descriptions of successful practices.
- Inspire, assemble, and analyze independent pre- and post-film evaluations of giant screen films and their supporting exhibitions, programs, and collateral materials in order to better inform the process of making giant screen films and their supporting programs.
- Inspire, assemble and analyze new samples of international data on student, teacher, family, and adult expectations of, and reactions to, giant screen experiences in order to better inform the process of making giant screen films and their supporting programs.
- Promote individual and cross-institutional research that seeks to forward the aims of the Lifelong Learning Committee.
- Encourage innovation in the design and development of supporting exhibitions, programs, and collateral materials.
Communications
- Create opportunities for idea and information exchange among the Association’s membership around the above and related matters.
- Communicate Committee updates and findings on the above and related matters to the Association’s membership and to the industry-at-large using the web site, other publications, conferences, and other meetings.
Achievement Awards
- Establish criteria to inform the selections of GSCA’s annual achievement awards of best film for lifelong learning and best educational support materials.
Liaison
- Liaise with other committees, in particular the Conference Committee in terms of professional development sessions, Member Services Committee in terms of maximizing the value of membership, and Marketing and Promotion Committee in terms of increased awareness about the giant screen experience among the broader filmmaking industry and the general public.

Technical Committee
Mandate: To create programs and guidelines to encourage best technical practices for giant screen exhibitors and filmmakers.
Strategies:
- Coordinate technical sessions at GSCA conferences and events, providing an ongoing forum for the presentation of technical issues of interest to GSCA members.
- Establish recommended technical guidelines for giant screen exhibitors (expanding upon those outlined in the Technical Task Force’s 2009 report), and seek to develop standard test materials for evaluating the performance of giant screen cinemas.
- Create an online reference database of tools used by giant screen filmmakers--including cameras, film stocks, and post-production processes--in the interest of helping giant screen filmmakers produce the highest quality images possible for presentation on the giant screen.
- Liaise with the GSCA Conference Committee and Executive Committee regarding technical standards for submission of content at GSCA events.
- Deal with issues relating to GSCA giant screen theater certification should these arise as a by-product of the efforts of the GSCA Technical and Marketing Task Forces.
