December 18, 2007--Euromax, the professional association of the European giant screen film industry, has announced its new executive committee for 2008. Members of Euromax voted for the committee, which will take office on January 1, 2008.
Christian Scheidegger has been elected as Euromax’s new president. Scheidegger is the manager of the IMAX theater at the Museum of Transport in Lucerne, Switzerland. He succeeds Berend Reijnhoudt from Omniversum in The Hague, The Netherlands, who has held the position since September 2003.
Jessica Christensen is the new vice president theaters. Christensen is the theater manager of Cosmonova, the IMAX dome theater in the Swedish Museum of Natural History. She succeeds Simon Jones from the IMAX theater At-Bristol, which closed earlier this year.
Simone Appleby has been re-elected as vice president production. Appleby is a 70mm postproduction supervisor at Gulliver, Paris, France. She was re-elected for a second term in 2008.
Euromax was founded in 1989 and seeks to further cooperation and support between European giant screen theaters and bring together European groups who are producing films for that medium or servicing the industry. Membership is open for private or public bodies, firms, and foundations dealing with the giant screen film industry, which have an administrative base in Europe. Membership applications from organizations outside Europe are considered on individual merit, if their affiliation will contribute to the aims of Euromax.
