June 12, 2008--Spanish actress and singer Leonor Watling has joined the cast of Orbita Max’s The Magic Tale, playing the role of a wise and exotic fairy. The Magic Tale is the first Spanish feature film in 3D for giant screen theaters, digital theaters, and conventional 35mm theaters.
Watling has worked in more than 40 film and television titles and became especially known after being nominated for the Goya award (Spain’s national film awards) for best actress in 1998. She’s worked in films such as Talk to Her by Pedro Almodovar and My Life Without Me by Isabel Coixet. Watling is also the lead voice and lyricist of the Spanish band Marlango.
The Magic Tale is the story of a girl’s magical journey to Africa--where she’ll live amazing experiences with other kids, wild animals, and nature--that will show her the path to the world of imagination and meaning of life. It is an educational and imaginative story, a contemporary classic.
Shooting for The Magic Tale took place in Namibia and South Africa from March through May 2008. Currently the film is in preproduction for a following shoot to take place in Barcelona in July.
Along with Leonor Watling, The Magic Tale cast includes Namibian children Eva Gerretsen and Raymond Mvula as the main characters, Spanish actors Adrià Collado and Verónica Blume, and the veteran South African actor John Whiteley.
