Detroit Science Center May Reopen |
 June 7, 2012—The rumored demise of the Detroit Science Center, shuttered since September, may not be as certain as an ominous foreclosure notice suggests. In a complex transaction being refined in advance of a public auction set for July 5, an all-new Michigan Science Center is being created and a prominent Ann Arbor business leader and former chairman of the Michigan Republican Party, Ron Weiser, has reached an agreement to purchase the land, building and contents of the center from Citizens Bank, the mortgage holder owed $6.2 million.
