Mission and Overview
The core purpose of the Giant Screen Cinema Association (GSCA®) is to advance the business of producing and presenting giant screen experiences.

GSCA was founded in 2006 with the unification of the Large Format Cinema Association (LFCA) and the Giant Screen Theater Association (GSTA).

Membership
Founded in 2006, the GSCA boasts membership of more than 250 organizations in 30 countries engaged in the production, distribution, and exhibition of giant screen film experiences. Member organizations include giant screen filmmakers, distributors, theaters, suppliers, manufacturers, and students from around the world. GSCA offers three membership categories: Corporate, Individual, and Student.

Events
The Association typically holds two annual events. The two-day Film Expo in February/March is focused on film screenings. The four-day International Conference and Trade Show in September includes film screenings, the industry’s only trade show, professional development, and the annual GSCA Achievement Awards.

Other events are held periodically, i.e. the 2011 GSCA Asia Film Expo and the 2008 Greater Potential of Giant Screen Experiences: Connecting Society with Science Symposium.

Awards
GSCA holds its annual Achievement Awards during the International Conference and Trade Show in September. Film award categories include Best Cinematography, Best Sound Design, Best Original Score, Best Film for Learning, Best Film Produced Non-Exclusively for the Giant Screen, and Best Film Produced Exclusively for the Giant Screen. Marketing Awards include Best Educational Program, Best Film Launch by a Theater, Best Marketing Campaign by a Distributor, Best Theater Launch, and the Big Idea Award.

Publications
GSCA publishes The Big FrameTM, a yearly member directory and annual report. In addition to member listings, the publication includes The GSCA Year in Review, Award Winners, Films Release, Industry Milestones and Memorials, and the GSCA Financial Report.
