Flying Monsters 3D Surpasses $10 Million in Worldwide Box Office Revenue

May 9, 2013—Flying Monsters 3D, a state-of-the-art adventure film made for museum and science center theaters, surpassed $10 million in total worldwide gross box office, National Geographic Cinema Ventures (NGCV) has announced. Produced by award-winning Atlantic Productions in association with Sky 3D, the film was written and narrated by renowned naturalist Sir David Attenborough. Flying Monsters 3D has been shown in more than 84 theaters worldwide on 3D digital, flat and dome giant screens, immersing audiences into a prehistoric world to witness the story of pterosaurs, a mysterious group of winged vertebrates that ruled the skies while dinosaurs roamed the Earth.

IMAX Corporation Reports First Quarter 2013 Financial Results

April 25, 2013—IMAX Corporation today reported first quarter 2013 revenues of $49.9 million, adjusted EBITDA as calculated in accordance with the company's credit facility of $13.9 million, adjusted net income of $5.6 million, or $0.08 per diluted share, and reported net income of $2.9 million, or $0.04 per diluted share.

IMAX Signs Agreement with Edmonton Space and Science Foundation for Next-Generation Laser Technology

IMAX and Paramount Pictures Strengthen Partnership with Five-Picture Pact

April 15, 2013—IMAX Corporation and Paramount Pictures, a division of Viacom, tonight announced an agreement to release five of Paramount Pictures' upcoming films in the immersive IMAX format under an extension of the companies' long-running partnership. The arrangement features some of Paramount's most highly anticipated tentpole films, including Michael Bay's Transformers 4 (June 2014) as well as its co-production of Christopher Nolan's Interstellar (November 2014) and three titles that have yet to be announced.

IMAX and Cinepolis Sign Agreement for Five Theaters in Mexico

April 15, 2013—IMAX Corporation and Cinepolis, one of the world's largest exhibition circuits, today announced an agreement to install five IMAX® theaters in existing multiplexes across Mexico. The deal brings to 13 Cinepolis' total IMAX commitment, with seven IMAX theaters currently open in Mexico and one open in Brazil.

Cinemas Guzzo and IMAX Expand Revenue Share Agreement

April 16, 2013—IMAX Corporation today announced an expansion of its revenue sharing agreement with Cinémas Guzzo for an additional two IMAX® theater systems. The exhibitor will add a second IMAX theater to its new construction project, the Mega-Plex St. Therese 10 in Sainte-Therese. In addition, Cinémas Guzzo will add an IMAX theater at its Mega-Plex Lacordaire 16 in Montreal. Today's deal brings to 10 the exhibitor's total IMAX commitment.

IMAX Coming to Historic TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood

April 12, 2013—IMAX Corporation and Chinese Theatres LLC today announced an agreement to add an IMAX® theater to the iconic TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, through an extensive transformation of the landmark site. The addition brings the theater into the 21st Century and gives Hollywood its first IMAX® theater, providing fans with a movie-going experience that will rival any in southern California. Once complete, this will be IMAX's largest auditorium in the world in terms of seating capacity and its third-largest commercial theater screen in North America. Closing of the agreement is subject to the issuance of final permits.
