July 27, 2009--The Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival has announced the finalists for peer-judged categories, including cinematography, editing, original score, special venue, and writing, with giant screen films Wild Ocean and Bugs 3D being nominated in various categories.
Wild Ocean has been nominated for Best Sound, Best Editing, and Best Special Venue project. In the Best Sound category, Mike Roberts (location sound supervisor and mixer) and Brian Eimer (supervising sound editor) have been singled out for the award. Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas received the nomination for Best Editing. Producers Giant Screen Films and Yes/No Productions are named in the Best Special Venue category. Bugs 3D producers Principal Large Format and SK Films received the nomination in the Best Special Venue category.
The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony and gala dinner on October 1 during the festival in Jackson, Wyoming.
