
 September 26, 2010--The Giant Screen Cinema Association (GSCA) presented its annual Achievement Awards last night at the GSCA International Conference and Trade Show, hosted this year by the Tennessee Aquarium. The winners are as follows:

The Louisville Science Center in Louisville, KY, for its launch of Van Gogh: Brush with Genius

Best Educational Program
Marbles Kids Museum in Raleigh, North Carolina, for its Learning Lab Program
Big Idea Award (given in recognition of an exceptional single idea or element in the campaigns of the marketing finalists)

Big Shoe Award (chosen by GSCA staff to recognize a person who exemplifies the meaning of “Great Volunteer”)

The award ceremony also included a tribute to IMAX co-founder Robert Kerr, who died this year at the age of 81. IMAX Corporation also presented its Maximum Image Awards at the ceremony. Rolling Stones at the Max, directed by David Douglas, was inducted into the IMAX Hall of Fame, and the Best IMAX Booth Award was presented to the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum.
The GSCA International Conference and Trade show runs September 25-27, 2010, at the Tennessee Aquarium. Dome Day will be held at McWane Science Center on September 28. This year’s conference, attended by 350 people from 24 countries, features new films, films in production, projects in development, professional development, and the giant screen industry’s only trade show.
