September 4, 2012—IMAX Corporation and Warner Bros. Pictures today announced that The Dark Knight Rises has passed the $100 million global box office mark in 557 IMAX® theaters worldwide after its 7th week of release. As of Sept. 3, 2012, the film reached a total of $65.1 million from 332 IMAX screens domestically and $37.3 million from 225 IMAX screens internationally. These figures include box office receipts from China, which began playing the film on Aug. 27 in 75 IMAX theaters. The Dark Knight Rises represents the second IMAX DMR® film to cross this milestone, after Avatar.
August 30, 2012—GSCA is pleased to announce that the 2013 International Conference and Trade Show will be held at the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, on September 14-17, 2013. The Canadian Museum of Civilization IMAX Theatre has a convertible dome/flat screen, so flat-screen and dome presentations will be held in the same theater.

August 17, 2012—3D Entertainment Distribution today announced an agreement with Cinemark Holdings, Inc. to present Air Racers 3D, narrated by actor Paul Walker (The Fast and the Furious, Takers), in Reno (Nevada) exclusively at Cinemark Century Theatres from the 7th to the 20th of September. The two-week theatrical engagement will coincide with the 2012 National Championship Air Races at Reno-Stead Airport, which will see the intrepid young star of the 3D film, pilot Steven Hinton, in competition for the fourth consecutive time.
August 16, 2012—IMAX Corporation and Universal Pictures have announced that Oblivion will be released exclusively in IMAX on April 12, 2013, one week ahead of its wide release on April 19, 2013. The action-adventure starring Tom Cruise marks director Joseph Kosinski's second IMAX release following 2010's TRON: Legacy.

Pictures today announced that The Dark Knight Rises generated strong second weekend global box office results of approximately $15 million in 479 IMAX® theaters worldwide over the weekend of July 29, bringing the film's global IMAX cumulative box office to date to approximately $52 million.
