October 19, 2011—IMAX Corporation today announced that Blue Sky World Entertainment signed an agreement to install a digital IMAX® theater system at the 20th Century Plaza in Nairobi, Kenya. The theater, which will be the first in Central Africa, will open in March 2012.
October 18, 2011--IMAX Corporation has announced a joint revenue sharing agreement with TGV Cinemas Sdn Bhd (TGV Cinemas) to install a new digital IMAX® theater system at the Sunway Pyramid Shopping Centre, TGV's highest-grossing multiplex. The theater is expected to open by Dec. 15, 2011, in time for the release of Mission: Impossible -- Ghost Protocol The IMAX Experience, which opens globally Dec. 21, 2011. This agreement brings to 294 the total number of IMAX theaters contracted to open in the Asia region, 95 of which are currently in operation.
October 17, 2011--IMAX Corporation and Eastman Kodak Company announced today a relationship that will broaden the application of digital cinema technologies in theaters and enhance the consumer's movie-going experience. The companies announced that IMAX has licensed from Kodak certain exclusive rights in the digital cinema field to a portfolio of more than 50 patent families covering fundamental laser projection technology.

October 5, 2011--D3D Cinema is pleased to announce that its first U.K. giant screen digital 3D conversion at Millennium Point in Birmingham is underway. The former IMAX theater is set to become the Midlands largest, independent digital 3D cinema. Outfitted with twin state-of-the-art Barco 4K digital projectors paired with industry-leading Dolby Digital 3D technology, the new system will allow Millennium Point to show a wider selection of 3D feature films as well as a larger variety of 2D movies and documentaries. Millennium Point will reopen the theater at the end of October with The Adventures of Tintin 3D.
October 5, 2011-- IMAX Corporation, DreamWorks Studios and The Walt Disney Studios have announced that the action drama Real Steel will open in 270 domestic IMAX® theaters Friday, October 7, 2011, simultaneous with its North American wide release. The film will also open in at least 100 IMAX theaters internationally, with 62 theaters releasing day-and-date. Additional international playdates are expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
