Pictures today announced that Rock of Ages, based on the hit Broadway musical, will be digitally re-mastered into the immersive IMAX® format and released for a limited domestic engagement in select IMAX® theaters, day-and-date with the film's release on June 15, 2012. May 7, 2012—IMAX Corporation, Marvel Studios and The Walt Disney Studios today announced that the epic Super Hero adventure Marvel's The Avengers has surpassed IMAX's domestic opening weekend box office record by generating $15.3 million of the film's record-setting domestic gross of more than $200 million, resulting in an IMAX per-screen average of approximately $56,000 in 275 digital IMAX® theaters.

May 4, 2012—IMAX Corporation, Marvel Studios and The Walt Disney Studios have announced that the epic Super Hero adventure Marvel's The Avengers will be released in the immersive IMAX® 3D format in 451 digital theaters worldwide. Domestically, the film will be released in 275 theaters beginning Friday, May 4.

April 27, 2012—IMAX Corporation today reported first quarter 2012 revenues of $55.6 million, adjusted EBITDA as calculated in accordance with the company's Credit Facility of $16.4 million, adjusted net income of $4.0 million, or $0.06 per diluted share, and reported net income of $2.6 million, or $0.04 per diluted share. In the first quarter of 2012, the company incurred a charge of $0.7 million to enable certain theaters to play movies, such as The Dark Knight Rises, in either digital or analog format.
