Old Man and the Sea, The

An animated version of the famous Ernest Heminway story, The Old Man and the Sea tells of the friendship between a young boy and an aging fisherman who is coming to terms with his failing abilities.

After having to accept charity from his neighbors, the old fisherman sets out in search of a catch that will restore his self-confidence. The result is an extraordinary duel, illustrated through 29,000 images hand-painted on glass by animator Aleksandr Petrov.

The film follows a 17-minute live-action bio of the author, called Hemingway: A Portrait.
