November 30, 2015—The National Infantry Museum opens its new Giant Screen Theater on December 3 with “The New American Freedom Train.” The addition of a stage was part of a just-completed $1.8 million renovation of the theater, including the installation of the new 6P Christie Laser Projection System. The theater's new cinema system was designed and installed by D3D Cinema.

November 24, 2015—Cinematographer James Neihouse has joined the American Society of Cinematographers as an active member. Membership to the ASC is extended by invitation to those who are actively engaged as directors of photography and have demonstrated outstanding ability. Neihouse has worked on more than 30 IMAX productions, including all of the company’s collaborations with NASA.

November 17, 2015—On Monday, Tennessee Aquarium president and CEO Charlie Arant announced his retirement to staff and volunteers by thanking them for their service during his more than 20-year tenure. On March 20, 1995, Arant became the third president and CEO in the Aquarium's history. Under his direction, the non-profit organization has seen many milestones, including opening the IMAX 3D Theater in 1996. Read the full story at NewsChannel9.com here.

Lionsgate has picked up US rights to 3D family adventure Robinson Crusoe from StudioCanal. The film will be released wide in the US by Lionsgate’s Summit Entertainment label in mid-2016 following StudioCanal’s European release. The animated film brings to life the true story of Robinson Crusoe in 3D as seen through the eyes of his quirky companions, including his parrot, Tuesday, who dreams of exploring the world. The film is directed by Ben Stassen and Vincent Kesteloot and produced by nWave Pictures.

November 9, 2015—Global visual technology company RealD Inc. (NYSE: RLD) and Rizvi Traverse Management, LLC, a leading private equity investor in the media, entertainment and technology sectors, today announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement pursuant to which Rizvi Traverse will acquire RealD for $11.00 per share, in an all-cash merger transaction. The transaction is valued at approximately $551 million, including net debt. Upon completion of the transaction, RealD will become a privately held company. The RealD Board of Directors approved the agreement and recommends that RealD shareholders vote in favor of the transaction.

IMAX is pleased to announce that Parc du Futuroscope in Poitiers, France, will install IMAX’s next-generation digital laser projection system at its Kinemax IMAX® theatre to replace the IMAX film-based projection system at that location. The agreement marks the first IMAX laser system signing in France.
November 2, 2015—IMAX Corporation (NYSE:IMAX) and Twentieth Century Fox, a division of 21st Century Fox (NASDAQ: FOX), jointly announced the companies have entered into a long-term, multi-picture agreement. Marking the two companies' first joint multi-picture agreement, the deal includes future tentpoles from the Fox slate, including Deadpool, Independence Day Resurgence, Maze Runner: The Death Cure and the studio's untitled Wolverine project.
