Terrence Malick's Voyage of Time Is First Recipient of Financing from IMAX's Original Film Fund

February 25, 2015—IMAX Corporation (NYSE:IMAX), together with Broad Green Pictures, have announced they are joining Sophisticated Films and Wild Bunch to complete financing of Terrence Malick’s Voyage of Time. Broad Green will have the first opportunity to distribute the feature film version in North America following the exclusive IMAX release.

Giant Dome Theater Consortium Supports the K2 Communications/Giant Screen Films New Release Journey to Space

February 25, 2015—K2 Communications and Giant Screen Films are proud to announce a collaboration with the Giant Dome Theater Consortium (GDTC) in support of their latest film Journey to Space, launching worldwide this month. The GDTC consists of seven prominent institutions across the United States, specifically Cincinnati Museum Center; Discovery Place, Inc., Charlotte; Museum of Science, Boston; Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago; Reuben H. Fleet Science Center, San Diego; Science Museum of Minnesota and the St. Louis Science Center.

UK's National Media Museum IMAX Cinema to Go Digital with £800,000 Investment

February 17, 2015—Spectre, the 24th James Bond film, and the new Star Wars film The Force Awakens are likely to be shown in the National Media Museum's big screen IMAX cinema this year after the completion of improvements costing nearly £800,000. Work on upgrading the 32-year-old cinema involves changing the IMAX projection system into digital format and replacing the 50-ft-high screen, both of which were installed in 1999 as part of improvements to the whole building costing more than £16 million. IMAX and CJ CGV Holdings Ltd. Expand Partnership to Bring the IMAX Experience® to Vietnam

February 13, 2015—IMAX Corporation (NYSE: IMAX) and CJ CGV Holdings, Ltd., (CJ CGV) today announced an expansion of the companies' partnership with the addition of two IMAX® theatres in Vietnam, to be operated by CGV Vietnam, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CJ CGV. The deal marks IMAX's entry into the country, with the first theatre to be added to a new construction project in Ho Chi Minh City, the largest metropolitan area in Vietnam, and the second location still to be determined.  With this deal, CJ CGV—IMAX's second-largest partner internationally—will have 97 theatres open or contracted to open, including two theatres in Vietnam, 20 theatres in South Korea and 75 theatres in China.

Fifty Shades of Grey Set for 75 IMAX Screens

February 10, 2015—Fifty Shades of Grey continues to generate pre-release heat with IMAX coming onboard at the last minute for a release on 75 large-screen locations this weekend. IMAX Entertainment CEO Greg Foster made the announcement Monday at the Stifel Technology, Internet and Media Conference.
