May 30, 2018—The Giant Screen Cinema Association (GSCA) is pleased to announce Evans & Sutherland, in partnership with Christie Digital, will present their 8K digital cinema RGB laser system at GSCA’s Dome Day event on September 24 at McWane Science Center in Birmingham, Alabama. The E&S 8K dome system was chosen by the GSCA Technical Committee after a comprehensive request for proposal and selection process.

May 2, 2018—IMAX Corporation and AMC Theatres have signed a binding letter of intent to install IMAX's new ground-breaking laser experience for commercial multiplexes in 87 of the exhibitor's highest-performing IMAX at AMC locations across the U.S. The announcement coincides with the launch of the next-generation of IMAX with Laser, IMAX's most advanced commercial projection system to date designed to transform the premium blockbuster moviegoing experience.
May 2, 2018—IMAX Melbourne celebrates its 20th anniversary on May 22. The theater will re-release MacGillivray Freeman’s groundbreaking 1998 documentary film Everest on IMAX 15/70 film on May 22 to celebrate 20 years of immersive giant screen movies.
