June 30, 2015—National Geographic Studios announced today that three of its most recent standout releases have reached a new box office milestone—collectively they have surpassed $20 million in gross box office earnings, performing strongly in giant-screen, IMAX® and digital theaters worldwide. Leading the way is the award-winning Jerusalem, which continues to soar at the box office, recently exceeding $10 million in worldwide gross revenue. Mysteries of the Unseen World has topped $7 million in box office earnings, and Pandas: The Journey Home has brought in over $4 million worldwide.

June 30, 2015—IMAX Corporation today announced that it has optioned theatrical rights, among others, to author Donovan Hohn's 2011 best-selling nonfiction book Moby Duck. The story, about a ship in the North Pacific that loses a container carrying thousands of rubber duck bath toys and their mysterious journey that spans the globe, will be made into a theatrical documentary produced by IMAX; its production will be spearheaded by Drew Fellman (Born to Be Wild and Island of Lemurs: Madagascar, writer/producer on both), who will produce and direct the project from a script he writes and develops.

June 18, 2015—IMAX Corporation and TCL jointly announced the launch of the IMAX Private Theatre "Palais™"—the first premium, in-home private theatre developed through IMAX's joint venture with TCL Multimedia Technology Holdings Limited in China.

June 17, 2015—Continuing to expand its footprint in the Chinese market, IMAX Corporation has announced the creation of the IMAX China Film Fund with its subsidiary IMAX China and partner China Media Capital ("CMC"), to help fund a minimum of 10 tentpole films in Mandarin. The China Film Fund, which will be capitalized at up to $50 million initially, will target productions that can leverage the IMAX® brand, relationships, technology and release windows, with the flexibility to produce IMAX and non-IMAX content, and develop original films or co-finance studio productions. Led by its founding Chairman, Ruigang Li, CMC, China's prominent media and entertainment focused investment fund, acquired a 10% interest in IMAX's China subsidiary in 2014.

June 16, 2015—IMAX Corporation has announced that Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment's Jurassic World, the long-awaited next installment of Steven Spielberg's groundbreaking Jurassic Park series, scored a record-setting opening weekend in IMAX® theatres with $44.2 million worldwide, surpassing the Company's previous best weekend globally (Iron Man 3's $28.8 million) by more than 50%. Domestically, Jurassic World debuted in IMAX with a benchmark $21 million on 363 IMAX screens, with all of the film's top five locations being IMAX. Additionally, of the film's top 10 theatres, 9 were IMAX, while 18 of the top 20 were also IMAX locations.

June 11, 2015—Award-winning underwater filmmaker Pawel Achtel received another accolade at the recent National Awards of the Australian Cinematographers’ Society in Hobart, winning the inaugural Bob Miller ACS Technical & Achievement Award in recognition of his ground-breaking 2D and 3D underwater camera systems.
