July 16, 2019—To honor the historic Apollo 11 moon landing of July 20, 1969, a special “Filming Man in Space” issue of
American Cinematographer detailed the extensive photographic work done to document the complex project in still photos and motion pictures. This special collection features an introduction written by award-winning and celebrated cinematographer James L. Neihouse, who has worked closely with NASA and the astronauts to film the IMAX space documentaries.

July 15, 2019—It is with heavy hearts that the Naval Aviation Museum
Foundation in Pensacola, Florida, announces the passing of their good
friend and colleague, Mike Moodispaugh. Mike was a 22-year veteran in the industry, hired as an IMAX projectionist at just 19 years old in 1997. He later became the Chief Projectionist and eventually was promoted to
Technical Operations Manager. Mike and his staff won the IMAX Best Booth
Award presented at the 2011 GSCA International Conference and Trade
Show in Austin, Texas.

July 9, 2019—With deep sadness we share the news that Abdullah Alshtail,
Theater Manager at The Scientific Center of Kuwait (TSCK), died on June 11,
2019, after his battle with cancer. He was 39 years old and is survived by his wife
and four children.
