June 16, 2016—The Giant Screen Cinema Association (GSCA) is thrilled to announce that IMAX Corporation has generously signed on as a partner-level sponsor, the highest level of support, for the GSCA 2016 International Conference and Trade Show in Toronto on October 4-7.

IMAX’s contribution will support the conference’s opening reception and the GSCA Achievement Awards, both to be held at Toronto’s Fairmont Royal York Hotel the evening of October 4. During the ceremony, GSCA will present awards for giant screen filmmaking, marketing, and education, while IMAX will present awards for projection excellence and induct a classic film into the IMAX Hall of Fame. IMAX’s Technical Services and IMAX Post/DKP teams will also provide assistance for screenings in IMAX digital laser projection at the Cineplex Scotiabank IMAX Theatre and 15 perf/70mm film at the Ontario Science Centre Omnimax Theatre throughout the conference.

“IMAX has been such a valued and reliable partner,” says GSCA Executive Director Tammy Seldon. “Financial support is only part of their contribution. The IMAX team, particularly David and Patricia Keighley and everyone at IMAX Post/DKP, works tirelessly to help us coordinate screenings of new films and films in the pipeline to ensure producers’ work is projected flawlessly and the conference runs smoothly and efficiently. We appreciate their continued partnership.”

“We really enjoy celebrating the industry and paying tribute to the many people who have dedicated their lives to it,” says Mike Lutz, IMAX Vice President of Institutional Sales and Client Services. “The Achievement Awards evening always reminds us of how special the craft is and how much potential there is in its future.”
