reveal the intimate secrets of the world’s largest and relatively unexplored
fringing reef during its world premiere at the Western Australian Maritime
Museum in Fremantle, Australia, on December 29, 2018.
June 19, 2017—Australian-based December Media has announced the establishment of December Media Distribution (DMD), a new arm to handle distribution of films made for IMAX and giant screen theatres. The new distribution unit will be headed up by IMAX and giant screen industry veteran Mark Bretherton.
March 30, 2017—K2 Communications is proud to announce a partnership with Sydney, Australia-based Wild Pacific Media to release the 45-minute giant screen film Ancient Australia in February of 2018. Production has been ongoing this year, with postproduction scheduled for August through November.
August 25, 2016—For years, Sydney has boasted the biggest cinema screen in the world at IMAX Darling Harbour, but a new $700M redesign of the site will see the iconic building demolished and the precinct faced with some significant construction for the next three years. IMAX Sydney chief executive Mark Bretherton said that he was excited about the opportunities the new site would bring, and quick to point out the new screen would still be the biggest in the world. “The new screen will be slightly smaller than our current one, but it will still be the biggest in the world,” he said.
