February 17, 2022—Dr. Peter Popp, CEO of Reef Distribution, and Tina
Ratterman, President of BIG & Digital, have joined forces to expand
content, marketing, and support to fulldome and giant screen theaters
worldwide. Reef Distribution has taken over distribution, including administrative,
accounting, and technical support services, for the BIG & Digital
catalog, which includes titles such as
In Saturn’s Rings,
Expedition Chesapeake: a Journey of Discovery,
Star Dreaming,
Whale Super Highway, and
Legends of the Northern Sky. Ratterman will lead and expand worldwide distribution and marketing.

July 1, 2020—BIG & Digital, LLC, is launching the Cinema Learning Challenge Virtual Field Trip Experience in July 2020 as a no-contact, educational alternative to traditional field trips and outreach programs. Tina Ratterman, the founder of CLC, said, “I want to help museums and theaters succeed, especially during this difficult time. If schools and groups aren’t able to take field trips, we can bring the field trips to them! Museums can support their mission of education while enjoying a new revenue source through Virtual Field Trips."
February 15, 2020 — Whale Super Highway explores the mysteries
of humpback whales, following their migration from the top of Western
Australia to Antarctica and back again—one of the longest migrations on
the planet. This stunning new documentary from Prospero Productions
releases worldwide on World Whale Day, February 15, 2020. It will show
in Nevada at the Fleischmann Planetarium and in Texas at the Mayborn
Science Theater, among other locations around the globe.
January 29, 2019—BIG & Digital announced today they are the official
distributor of Expedition Chesapeake, A Journey of Discovery, a
stunning film produced by Whitaker Center Productions in association with VIA
Studios Global. The world premiere, with special guest and three-time Emmy Award
winning expedition leader Jeff Corwin, will take place March 20, 2019, in
Select Medical Digital Cinema at Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts
(Harrisburg, Pennsylvania).

January 7, 2019—BIG & Digital announced today Dr. Maarten Roos, filmmaker and planetary scientist, will
represent films for museums and planetariums across Europe as BIG & Digital
expands with new space science content for giant screen and fulldome theaters.

December 8, 2018—The

new, live-action underwater shows in 4K for fulldome theaters
and planetariums worldwide
was announced today
by production company Prospero
Productions of Fremantle, Western Australia
and BIG & Digital. “Ningaloo: Australia’s Other Great Reef” will
reveal the intimate secrets of the world’s largest and relatively unexplored
fringing reef during its world premiere at the Western Australian Maritime
Museum in Fremantle, Australia, on December 29, 2018.
March 7, 2018—BIG & Digital has announced that iconic Emmy, Grammy, Peabody and NAACP award-winner LeVar Burton will narrate In Saturn’s Rings, a groundbreaking, new, crowd-sourced production for IMAX® and giant screen theaters and planetarium domes. Written, produced and directed by innovative filmmaker Stephen van Vuuren, In Saturn’s Rings takes the viewer on a 14 billion light-year journey of the mind, heart and spirit, from the Big Bang to the conclusion of the Cassini-Huygens Mission at Saturn.
June 16, 2016—The Museum of Flight, a Smithsonian affiliate, has dedicated its entire June 18 film schedule to premiere Space Next in 4K stereoscopic 3D CGI, and the opening was timed to coincide with the NewSpace conference of space entrepreneurs, scientists, engineers and policy leaders, held annually by the Space Frontier Foundation. December 2, 2015—The official U.S. premiere of Space Next 3D, a space documentary produced by Afterglow Studios and distributed by BIG & Digital, takes place December 4 in the newly renovated Giant Screen Theater at the National Infantry Museum (Columbus, Georgia). The theater has undergone a $1.8 million renovation, which includes the conversion from film projection to state-of-the-art digital. The theater's new 6P Christie laser projection system will be the first of its kind in the Southeast, and the first to show Space Next 3D to the public.
