The “Science and Technology Section” of the 9th Beijing International
Film Festival & CSTM Popular Science Film Panorama was successfully
concluded on May 5, 2019, after the completion of the Film Panorama, popular
science activities, awards selections, exhibition exchanges, and academic forum.
The Festival provided a perfect interpretation of the theme “Film makes science
and technology more wonderful.”
May 6, 2019—Great Barrier Reef
was recently awarded “Best Creativity Film” in the
Science and Technology category of the Beijing International Film Festival, which
is held at the China Science and Technology Museum. The film was produced by December Media
, which also handles Asia/Pacific distribution, and is globally distributed by
MacGillivray Freeman Films.
January 24, 2019—The 9th Beijing International
Film Festival (BJIFF) will be held in Beijing from April 13th to 20th,
2019. As the host unit for “Science & Technology Section” authorized by the
Beijing International Film Festival Organizing Committee, China Science and
Technology Museum warmly invites you to submit special-effect
films (dome films, giant screen films, and 4D films) to show in the “Science
& Technology Section” of The 9th Beijing International Film
April 30, 2018—MacGillivray
Freeman’s America’s Musical
made its Asian debut at the 2018 Beijing International Film Festival
where it was awarded the “Best Audience Recommendation Award” in the Science
and Technology section. The film was one of 35 international film entries
screened at the China Science and Technology Museum Film Expo, which hosted the
festival's Science & Technology section.
April 19, 2018—The China Science and Technology Museum (CSTM) has partnered with Evans & Sutherland (E&S) to provide visitors the opportunity to experience China’s first permanent True8K™ laser giant screen digital dome, which replaces a 1570 film system. Beijing’s CSTM has the largest planetarium and digital giant screen dome system in China.
August 3, 2016—IMAX Corp. (NYSE: IMAX) and IMAX China Holding, Inc. (HKSE: 1970) have announced IMAX's largest new theatre deal ever—150 additional theatres with Wanda Cinema Line Corp (002739.SZ). Under the agreement, the theatres will be built throughout China over six years, starting next year, with 110 of these theatres scheduled to be installed by 2020.
