September 22, 2020—New York, NY—Cosmic Picture announced today that
National Geographic Photographer Florian Schulz and Princess Daazhraii
Johnson (Neet'saii Gwich'in) will narrate the upcoming documentary,
The Arctic: Our Last Great Wilderness, set to release in IMAX® and giant screen theaters beginning Spring 2021. T
he Arctic: Our Last Great Wilderness
is produced by Terra Mater Factual Studios, written and directed by
veteran IMAX® producer Myles Connolly and the award-winning nature
photographer and cinematographer Florian Schulz.

January 17, 2020—Cosmic Picture is proud to announce it will distribute
America’s Arctic, the upcoming giant screen documentary from Terra Mater Factual Studios.
America’s Arctic
is written and directed by veteran IMAX producer Myles Connolly and the
award-winning nature photographer and cinematographer Florian Schulz. The film will premiere the fall of 2020.
September 17, 2019—The Museum of Science, Boston and Cosmic Picture
have announced that they have entered into an agreement to produce a
film that celebrates New England and its people, exclusively for the
large format dome screen at the Museum’s Mugar Omni Theater. The film,
an original production expected to be released in 2021, will inspire
audiences with stunning visuals and stories featuring the innovations,
natural wonders, residents, landmarks, seasons, and characteristics that
define New England. The feature length OMNI® film (30-40 min) will take inspiration from the short film New England Time Capsule,
which delighted millions of Museum visitors for over a decade. The
Museum secured funding for the film from MathWorks, a long-time champion
of the Mugar Omni Theater and the Museum.

January 25, 2019—IMAX Corporation

that Chris Evans (
Captain America: The First Avenger,
Gifted)
will be narrating the upcoming IMAX documentary,
Superpower Dogs, set to
release in IMAX® and giant screen theatres beginning March 15. The official
Superpower
Dogs trailer, featuring Chris Evans, was also debuted today. From the
filmmakers behind the acclaimed documentaries
Jerusalem and
Journey
to Mecca, Superpower Dogs takes audiences on an immersive
IMAX® adventure to experience the life-saving superpowers and
extraordinary bravery of some of the world's most amazing dogs.
June 27, 2018—In addition to co-distributing its highly anticipated original production Superpower Dogs with IMAX (March 2019), Cosmic Picture is proud to announce it will also distribute two additional giant screen films in 2019. In the fall of 2019, Cosmic Picture will launch Sean Casey’s Back from the Brink. Also in 2019, Cosmic Picture will debut Expedition Chesapeake, A Journey of Discovery, an immersive expedition through the stunning beauty of Chesapeake Bay, the iconic watershed which stretches thousands of miles along America’s East Coast from New York to Virginia.
April 18, 2018—On Sunday, April 15, the team behind the upcoming IMAX® documentary Superpower Dogs™, an epic 3D live-action family adventure film about extraordinary real-life dogs, set the Guinness World Records title for the “Largest dog photo shoot.” The impressive record was set while filming the closing scene for the documentary in Los Angeles, bringing 108 dogs and their owners together for “Superpower your Dog Day,” a fun-filled event celebrating the power of dogs.
March 26, 2018—At the GSCA 2018 Film Expo, IMAX Corporation, Cosmic Picture and Mars Petcare announced that the IMAX documentary family adventure, Superpower Dogs™, will be released in IMAX® theatres starting spring 2019. From the filmmakers behind the acclaimed documentaries Jerusalem and Journey to Mecca, Superpower Dogs™ takes audiences on an entertaining and educational journey about extraordinary dogs that fight crime and save lives. Captured using IMAX® cameras, the film is the next title to be released under the IMAX Original Film Fund.
February 1, 2018—Cosmic Picture announced today that it has launched a new giant screen film distribution company for museum and science center theaters. Cosmic Picture Distribution LLC will distribute a range of films, including a number of giant screen educational films from the National Geographic library, including award-winning documentaries such as Sea Monsters, Extreme Weather, Mysteries of the Unseen World and its own hit Jerusalem. Cosmic Picture Distribution will be helmed by Antonietta Monteleone, President of Film Distribution. Also joining the team will be John Wickstrom, Vice President of Film Distribution, and Melissa Rogers, Senior Distribution Coordinator.
August 21, 2017—A whopping 25 movie crews will be positioned along the path of totality today to photograph the historic solar eclipse for an upcoming IMAX large format documentary about Albert Einstein, with a working title of Einstein’s Incredible Universe, from director Daniel Ferguson and production company Cosmic Picture. August 2, 2017—On Aug. 21, the total solar eclipse will cross the continental United States for the first time in 39 years, and IMAX cameras will be there to capture the historic event in all its glory. Daniel Ferguson, a documentary filmmaker with Cosmic Picture, will direct the documentary Einstein’s Incredible Universe (working title). According to Ferguson, the effort will include multiple crews in seven states, including aerial footage shot in Wyoming. Additionally, the film will include footage from specialist eclipse chasers and photographers from around the world to provide additional shots for the eclipse sequence, Ferguson says.
