July 28, 2022—Paul Wild, former theater director of IMAX Victoria, has joined the K2 Studios distribution team taking over responsibility for most of recently retired Ed Capelle’s theaters in the U.S. and Canada, as well as other select theaters. Paul is contracting part-time with K2 while he continues to represent Destination Cinema on a part-time basis.
May 15, 2022—K2 Studios has announced that industry veteran Ed
Capelle will retire this year after 35 years in the giant screen
industry, the last 20 of which were as VP of Distribution for K2.
September 1, 2020—Bob Perkins, CEO of Destination Cinema Inc., has
announced the sale of the IMAX Victoria Theatre to the Royal BC Museum
effective August 28, 2020. The acquisition of the theatre has been in process since June of 2019.
The theatre will be operated as usual with the current management team,
including Theatre Director Paul Wild.
Thomas Wyss Joins Destination Cinema to Relaunch Film Distribution
October 16, 2018—Bob Perkins, President and CEO of Destination
Cinema, Inc. (DCI), is pleased to announce that Thomas Wyss has joined the team
as an advisor. Wyss, a giant screen industry veteran, will be guiding the
distribution of the company’s existing library of films and advising on new
opportunities.
