February 16, 2017—Planetarium Hamburg, established both as an astronomical and entertainment destination for northern Germany, is undergoing a massive refurbishment in preparation for its grand reopening on February 14th, 2017. Their 21-meter planetarium in the upper level of the historic water tower that comprises the facility will reopen with an 8K resolution Digistar 6 system with 3D stereo from Evans & Sutherland. This beautifully bright, ultra-high resolution system will extend the scope of the creative and scientific programming that can be presented, and will offer audiences the first 3D fulldome experience in Germany (and only the third Digistar 3D system in Europe).
January 26, 2017—The Adler Planetarium, America's first planetarium, opened its doors in 1930 and has been a Chicago cultural icon ever since. The Adler Planetarium operates two domes, all day, 363 days a year—presenting nearly 5000 planetarium presentations each year. For this demanding schedule, the Adler is refurbishing both of their dome theaters with 8K resolution Digistar 6 systems from Evans & Sutherland.

September 29, 2016—
The Denver Museum of Nature & Science celebrated the grand re-opening of the Gates Planetarium on September 19. The Planetarium temporarily closed earlier this month to install upgraded projection equipment, making the experience sharper and more vibrant. Evans & Sutherland (E&S) installed an 8-channel Digistar system connected to eight Barco F35 2560 x 1600 resolution projectors with E&S’ proprietary auto alignment and auto blending systems. This stunning, full dome display boasts well over 20 million unique pixels.
