March 24, 2016—Starting April 4, guests will get a re-invented cinematic experience complete with new 4K digital state-of-the-art projection system, sound, screen and seating when The Henry Ford Giant Screen Experience opens. The upgrades to the Giant Screen Experience were designed by D3D Cinema, who installed the new dual Christie 4K digital projection with MasterImage 3-D technology, the QSC audio system and new MDI premium silver screen for exceptional resolution and brightness. The system features the first museum-based ultra-high resolution 4K projection system in the greater Detroit area.

August 26, 2015—The Giant Screen Cinema Association (GSCA) is pleased to announce that Evans & Sutherland has signed on as a partner-level sponsor, the highest level of support, for the upcoming GSCA International Conference and Trade Show in San Francisco on September 9-11 and Dome Day at The Tech Museum in San Jose on September 12. As part of its sponsorship, Evans & Sutherland will demonstrate an 8K digital fulldome system using its Digistar 5 system with Christie 4K projectors during Dome Day at The Tech Museum of Innovation.
August 21, 2015—The Giant Screen Cinema Association (GSCA) is pleased to announce that delegates of the upcoming GSCA International Conference and Trade Show in San Francisco will be treated to a demonstration of IMAX’s next-generation digital laser projection system’s capabilities during the conference technical session on Friday, September 11, at the AMC Metreon IMAX Theatre. Digital new films and films in production will also be screened for attendees on IMAX’s laser system throughout the conference.

IMAX is pleased to announce that the Auto and Technik Museum Sinsheim, in Sinsheim, Germany, will install IMAX’s next-generation digital laser projection system at its IMAX® theatre.
December 15, 2014—National Geographic Studios has acquired the global theatrical rights to the film Living in the Age of Airplanes, which takes audiences on an epic journey through 18 countries and across all 7 continents as it presents a unique perspective on how the airplane has changed the world. It will be available to 15/70 flat and dome film screens and to all digital screens when it is released worldwide on April 10, 2015.

May 5, 2014—IMAX Victoria will be one of the first theaters in the world to install IMAX laser technology in 2015. In the meantime, the theater is installing digital projectors and a rail system to transport the projectors and swap as needed. Read the full article from Times Colonist here:
