March 9, 2019—Building on the success of the
acclaimed Laser CineDome platform, D3D Cinema and Christie are pleased
announce the groundbreaking next generation upgrade–Gen2–featuring
Christie’s new D4K40-RGB pure laser projectors. The Laser CineDome
premiered in late 2016 as a premium giant dome projection platform,
replace film-based 70mm theater systems in museums and science centers.
The Gen2 option will be available in Q2 2019 and will be offered to
theaters at a price point lower than the Gen1 version.
November 16, 2018—Cincinnati Museum Center's Union Terminal $224 million restoration will be unveiled to the public this weekend, but the upgrades to the 85-year-old building won’t be coming to an end just yet. November 16, 2018—The Tech Museum of
Innovation opened the world’s first IMAX® Dome Theater featuring IMAX with
Laser on November 11. The $2.7 million renovation upgrades the 20-year-old,
four-story screen theater from 70mm film projection to a groundbreaking 4k
laser projection system. The new technology, which is tailored to the IMAX

July 30, 2018—The 280-seat Tech Museum of Innovation IMAX Theater in downtown San Jose, California, has been closed since the beginning of July to undergo a $2.7 million, four-month renovation that will replace its 70mm film projector with a state-of-the-art IMAX 4k laser projection system. April 19, 2018—The China Science and Technology Museum (CSTM) has partnered with Evans & Sutherland (E&S) to provide visitors the opportunity to experience China’s first permanent True8K™ laser giant screen digital dome, which replaces a 1570 film system. Beijing’s CSTM has the largest planetarium and digital giant screen dome system in China.
5, 2018—The new Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium at Liberty Science Center in
Jersey City, New Jersey, is the largest and most technologically advanced
planetarium in the Western Hemisphere, thanks to Digistar 6, a groundbreaking True8K™
display system, and a NanoSeam dome. The theater represents the state-of-the-art digital projection
technology and scientific visualization from Evans & Sutherland (E&S) and
seamless dome screen technology from Spitz.
September 11, 2017—D3D Cinema is pleased to
announce that its pioneering giant dome laser projection technology has been
selected for integration at the new Papalote Museo del Niño, Iztapalapa in
Mexico City. The museum is presently under construction and on target to
premiere in summer 2018. The facilities include a new giant screen cinema dome,
the first of its kind to be built in the Western Hemisphere in over two
