Research in Giant Screen

May 29, 2015—For a medium that is so strongly connected with education, there has been little formal research on the outputs and outcomes of watching giant screen films. Although formative and summative evaluations of the films are regularly incorporated into the development and production process, research on such issues as cognition, affect and behavior had not been systematically pursued. Mary Nucci reports on how GSCA is working with NSF, ASTC, CAISE and others to gather data about the giant screen format’s potential to educate, engage and entertain. K2 Communications and Giant Screen Films Partner on New Release Journey to Space

December 18, 2014—K2 Films, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of K2 Communications, and Giant Screen Films have teamed up to tell the exciting story of what the next chapter of space exploration will bring both near-term and long-term. Through visually stunning imagery, and in collaboration with leading space experts, Journey To Space showcases the exciting plans NASA and the space community are working on and the challenges they must overcome to carry out missions, once considered science fiction, and now science fact, such as landing astronauts on Mars. The film calls attention to the reality that the space program did not die with the end of the Shuttle Program in 2011. It is instead, vibrantly alive.
