January 5, 2016—The Putnam Museum and Science Center got a sneak peek Sunday of a new global effort to record and archive a vast array of sounds.
The museum was chosen as one of five “beta” sites worldwide for a new type of giant-screen experience—interactive as well as visual. "It's not just a movie—it's an experience," President/CEO Kim Findlay said of the
Global Soundscapes project. "What we're promoting is citizen science."
