Benedict Cumberbatch to Narrate; Trailer Premiere Nov. 25

November 25, 2020—SK Films and BBC Earth Natural History Unit announce the release of their upcoming documentary,
Antarctica, which will be narrated by Academy Award® nominee actor, Benedict
Cumberbatch. The film is set to open in select giant screen theaters
and museums in 2021. Trailer premieres on November 25.

June 19, 2020—SK Films, Dorsey Pictures, Max McGraw Wildlife Foundation and Archipelago Films announced today that
Wings Over Water, narrated by award-winning actor Michael Keaton, will release in IMAX and giant screen theaters in the spring of 2021.

Imaging Society’s Lumière Awards presentation
last night in Los Angeles. The Lumière Awards recognize
outstanding international achievement in the creation of immersive storytelling
using advanced visual technologies.

It
is with profound sadness that we share the news that illustrious
producer, distributor, industry leader, and GSCA board member Jonathan
Barker passed away, surrounded by family and friends, the morning of
July 5 from cancer. Jonathan
was the CEO of SK Films, which he founded 20 years ago with his wife
Wendy MacKeigan and Bob Kerr, co-founder of IMAX Corporation. Under his
leadership, SK established a presence as one of the stalwarts of the
industry, recognized with multiple GSCA awards.
June 18, 2018—Turtle Odyssey, a Definition Films production, will be narrated by Russell Crowe and released by SK Films this summer in select museums, science centers and IMAX® theaters worldwide. Turtle Odyssey tells the heartwarming story of one tiny sea turtle’s big adventure. Based in Australia, Crowe maintains a close association with Australia Zoo in the conservation and protection of sea turtles, creating a perfect synergy between the voice and messaging of this landmark film.
February 12, 2018—SK Films is thrilled to announce that Amazon Adventure won the highly prestigious Best 3D Documentary Motion Picture Lumiere Award at Hollywood’s Advanced Imaging Society awards presentation in Los Angeles.
