GSCA 2026 Film Delivery Specifications

This document outlines the delivery specifications for all film content to be shown on the CityWalk AMC IMAX Theater during the GSCA 2026 International Conference.

GENERAL PLAYBACK PARAMETERS

IMAX-prepared content will be presented using

  • Dual projector system
  • 2D or 3D formats
  • Up to 1.43:1 aspect ratio
  • Enhanced sound, based on content provided

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • No content should be sent directly to the Universal CityWalk IMAX Theater.
  • All delivery deadlines are available here.
  • Early submission is strongly encouraged to allow time for error resolution.
  • All content must be pre-screened by the producer or distributor prior to submission.
  • Late or altered/redelivered content will be charged $100 per day, inclusive of weekends.
  • IMAX will batch deliver all received DCPs to host institution before the event.
  • After the Conference, all the source materials will be returned to the submitters, and all data will be wiped from IMAX systems.

DELIVERY SPECIFICATIONS

  • Deliver as a SMPTE standard 24fps DCP
  • Encode using JPEG2000 compression up to and no greater than 400 Mbps
  • For audio specifications refer to Appendix B
  • If 3D, please create an interleaved DCP
  • Target 22-foot lamberts for 2D material and 10-foot lamberts an eye for 3D material
  • For content taller than 9:1 up to 1.43:1 full screen material, pre-process the image in your DCP package by squeezing the vertical dimension by exactly 24.8%. The anamorphic lens of the projector will expand the image to the correct ratio. See Appendix C for an image example
  • All content must be named through the Digital Naming Convention
  • Send DKDMs to GSCA2026@imax.com with Tammy Barrett in copy.
  • Request KDM Range: May 1 – 31, 2026

DELIVERY OPTIONS

OPTION 1: FROM AN EXISTING IMAX MASTER

  • No electronic delivery
  • Choose one:
    • Send an existing IMAX DCP to IMAX
    • Request IMAX to create DCP from an existing master; charges apply
  • Delivery address below

OPTION 2: NON-IMAX MASTERED MATERIAL WITH IMAX CERTIFICATION

  • Certification fee: $1,500 (pre-arranged)
  • Screened version will match delivered aspect ratio (up to 1.43:1)
  • 3D and enhanced sound available
  • Content will be screened by IMAX and delivered to host.

  • Request KDM Range: May 1 – 31, 2026

Playback Capabilities without IMAX certification  

  • Up to 1.90:1 aspect ratio
  • Playback: single projector, 2D
  • No enhanced sound.
  • On-screen notice displayed.
