Membership Categories
GSCA memberships follow the calendar year and are available in the following three categories.
Corporate
$950 USD Annual Fee
Corporate membership is extended to any corporation or institution with 4 or more employees. Eligible organizations may join with unlimited membership for employees. This allows one vote for the organization for awards, Board seats, and other issues voted on by the association. Theaters are required to join GSCA as corporate members.
Individual
$300 USD Annual fee
Individual membership is extended to any individual not affiliated with a company or institution. This category is intended for freelancers or individual entities, not for individuals within a company. However, companies with 3 or fewer employees may join GSCA with up to 3 individual memberships rather than a corporate membership (a form must be completed for each individual membership). An organization with multiple individual memberships is allowed one vote in GSCA elections, awards, etc., and will be asked to designate the person who is authorized to vote for the organization. This request is subject to review by the Member Services Committee.
Student
$100 USD Annual fee
A person is considered a student if currently enrolled in two filmmaking courses and can provide course schedule and receipt for payment of courses for the current semester. This level of membership does not include voting privileges in the association. Proof of student enrollment required. This request is subject to review by the Member Services Committee.
Business Categories
Members must designate a category for their membership so we can ensure the Board of Directors reflects the composition of the membership. All categories have the same benefits. The four business categories are as follows:
A Theater Member is any corporation, firm, partnership, association, institution, organization, or other entity, created or existing as a profit-making entity or as a non-profit making entity, engaged in exhibition of giant screen product, which desires to be a member of the Corporation and promote the purposes of the Corporation.
A Production Member is any corporation, firm, partnership, association, institution, organization, or other entity, created or existing as a profit-making entity or as a non-profit making entity, or an individual, engaged in the business of giant screen film production and/or post-production, which desires to be a member of the Corporation and promote the purposes of the Corporation.
A Distribution Member is any corporation, firm, partnership, association, institution, organization, or other entity, created or existing as a profit-making entity or as a non-profit making entity engaged in the business of distribution of giant screen films and which desires to be a member of the Corporation and promote the purposes of the Corporation.
A Related Business Member is any corporation, firm, partnership, association, institution, organization, or other entity engaged in the business of equipment manufacturing and supplies in relation to the giant screen film industry, or any other entity with an interest in the giant screen industry whose primary business does not specifically fit any other designation of membership, and which desires to be a member of the Corporation and promote the purposes of the Corporation.
