Author: Administrator Account/Thursday, April 13, 2017/Categories: Latest Headlines

April 13, 2017—Euromax, the European Association for giant screen, specialty and institutional documentary films, has announced its 2017 annual meeting film slate and program. The annual event will be hosted at Parc du Futuroscope in Poitiers, France, June 18-20, in a year that marks the major French theme park’s 30th anniversary.

An exciting film program accompanies the 2017 event, including 13 new feature films and 14 new films in production—all available from leading distribution companies, with many premiering for the very first time in Europe:

  • IMAX: Voyage of Time
  • SK Films: Amazon Adventure 3D
  • National Geographic: Extreme Weather
  • nWave Pictures Distribution: Hurricane
  • MacGillivray Freeman Films: Dream Big, The Search for Life in Space, America Wild: National Parks Adventure
  • BIG & Digital: Space Next 3D
  • Giant Screen Films: Incredible Predators, Mysteries of China, Earthflight
  • K2 Communications: Aircraft Carrier-Guardians of the Sea
  • Serengeti Entertainment: Conquest of the Skies 3D

Screenings will take place in the IMAX Laser and Omnimax (15-perf 70mm dome projection) theatres at Parc du Futuroscope.

Speaking about the conference, Laurent Dondey, Euromax President and CEO of Paris-based giant screen theatre La Géode, commented, "We are hugely excited about our 2017 film event. Year on year, our attendance has grown and we have welcomed attendees from new theatres and film production companies. This year will be no exception. Euromax is wonderfully unique and allows delegates to experience stunning documentary cinema on the true giant screen."

The event is expected to attract over 100 delegates from institutional theatres, museums, film production companies and distributors across the globe.

IMAX, SK Films and MacGillivray Freeman Films are already confirmed as major sponsors of the 2017 event.

Take a step further from Poitiers to La Rochelle

Euromax and Sunny Side of the Doc are embarking upon a new partnership which will commence at this year’s international marketplace for documentary in La Rochelle (just a short journey from Poitiers). Do not miss a very special two-day programme on June 21 and 22, providing new market and networking opportunities for the giant screen cinema industry in the global non-fiction production and distribution arena.

"We are delighted to be hosting Euromax at Futuroscope once again,” adds Dominique Prisset, mission development officer at Futuroscope.” The Euromax association is a vital resource for the documentary film and cinema industry, and we look forward to welcoming attendees from across Europe, the Middle East, North America and Asia with an exciting schedule and extensive networking and professional development opportunities.”
