March 1, 2022—The Max McGraw Wildlife Foundation, Dorsey Pictures, their partners Ducks Unlimited, and Audubon, and distributor SK Films are proud to announce that Wings Over Water has been named as a finalist for the Web of Life–Long Form Award at Jackson Wild’s World Wildlife Day Film Showcase. Winners will be announced March 3.
Directed by Academy Award-nominated Andrew Young of Archipelago Films, Wings Over Water tells the compelling story of a hidden oasis in the heartland of America that provides safety and nurseries to millions of migrating birds on their way home. It features three fascinating bird families and extraordinary footage of their unique behaviors in this precious wetland habitat. Filmed over a year by three talented natural history cinematographers, one for each bird, audiences will get up close and personal with these remarkable creatures—soar beside them, watch them feed and teach their young. The film is inspiring audiences on the challenges that birds and wetlands face and the heartwarming stories of those dedicated to their preservation.

There are 3 billion less birds today than we had in 1970,” says Charles S. Potter, Jr., President and CEO of the Max McGraw Wildlife Foundation. “Along with our conservation partners, Ducks Unlimited and Audubon, we want to ensure that birds and wetlands thrive again.”
