Starting in 1970, 15-perf, 65mm (15/65) film negative was the
standard method of capture for most GS films. Since about 2010 there have been significant
advances in the quality of digital capture, and most filmmakers now choose to
capture images either 100% digitally (for example, Amazon Adventure and Pandas),
or with a hybrid approach: shooting with both film and digital cameras (for
example, National Parks Adventure and
America’s Musical Journey). This section will provide an overview of
both capture techniques.
