January 6, 2016—The Naval Aviation Museum theater will close for two months while undergoing an extensive renovation, its first major upgrade in 20 years, which will include a conversion from film to digital with a Christie premium laser-illuminated 2D projection system and full 4K resolution, installed by D3D Cinema. January 5, 2016—The Putnam Museum and Science Center got a sneak peek Sunday of a new global effort to record and archive a vast array of sounds. The museum was chosen as one of five “beta” sites worldwide for a new type of giant-screen experience—interactive as well as visual. December 22, 2015—The Giant Screen Cinema Association (GSCA) is pleased to announce that its 2016 International Conference and Trade Show will be held on October 4-7 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The Cineplex Scotiabank IMAX Theatre will host flat-screen presentations on the IMAX next-generation digital laser projection system, and the Ontario Science Centre will host 15/70 film presentations on the dome screen in the Shoppers Drug Mart Omnimax Theatre.
