January 13, 2016—A federal judge has ruled in favor of IMAX Corp. in its $376,000 breach of contract lawsuit against the Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts. The decision U.S. Middle District Senior Judge Sylvia H. Rambo issued this week puts the downtown Harrisburg facility on the hook for defaulting on a multi-year lease for its former IMAX movie projection system. January 6, 2016—The Naval Aviation Museum theater will close for two months while undergoing an extensive renovation, its first major upgrade in 20 years, which will include a conversion from film to digital with a Christie premium laser-illuminated 2D projection system and full 4K resolution, installed by D3D Cinema. January 5, 2016—The Putnam Museum and Science Center got a sneak peek Sunday of a new global effort to record and archive a vast array of sounds. The museum was chosen as one of five “beta” sites worldwide for a new type of giant-screen experience—interactive as well as visual. "It's not just a movie—it's an experience," President/CEO Kim Findlay said of the Global Soundscapes project.
