May 5, 2014—IMAX Victoria will be one of the first theaters in the world to install IMAX laser technology in 2015. April 14, 2014—Five years ago, the chains—led by Cinemark—started using off-the-shelf digital technology to build their own large-format theaters, which they operate under a grab bag of brands, including BigD, ETX, Prime, RPX, UltraAVX and XD. Former IMAX Theater at the Polynesian Cultural Center Repurposed As 4D Multimedia Experience
