This film views the Changjiang (Yangtze) from the perspective of a young Canadian Violinist who is a member of the Shanghai Orchestra. One summer day she decides to follow the river from its source in Qinghai to where it empties into the East China Sea at Shanghai, with the aim of gaining a deeper understanding of Chinese geography and culture.
