We are proud to announce the launch of the website Graeme Ferguson: A Filmmaker’s Journey.

This is his memoir, which he wanted to be put out on the web rather than published as a book, so that it would be freely available to students doing research and other people interested in his story, documentary filmmaking and the history of IMAX.

A Filmmaker’s Journey is the memoir of Graeme Ferguson. Rather than publish it as a book, Graeme wanted it to be out on the web, so that his life story would be freely available to students doing research and other people interested in documentary filmmaking, the history of invention and IMAX. Most of the text is based on oral history interviews of Graeme by David Cobb and Laurel Dean in 2000 and 2020.

Graeme donated these interviews along with his papers, films, photographs, awards and other artifacts to the University of Toronto Media Commons Archives. The digital restoration of Graeme’s Expo 67 film Polar Life was made possible by The Cinémathèque Québécoise, The City of Montreal, Concordia University, York University and The National Film Board of Canada.
