We Want Different Voices at the Table

The strongest Board isn’t one where everyone thinks alike.

GSCA welcomes candidates from all regions of the world, organization sizes, professional backgrounds, career stages, experiences, and perspectives. We are looking for strategic thinkers, collaborators, challengers, listeners, problem-solvers, and people who care deeply about the future of this industry. GSCA is committed to nondiscrimination, including with respect to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, and age.

Your perspective may be exactly what the Board is missing.

What Board Service Looks Like

 GSCA Directors help establish strategic priorities, participate actively in Board discussions, review financial information, support and evaluate the Executive Director, serve as ambassadors for the association, and contribute to at least one committee, task force, or special initiative.

Directors should expect:

  • One in-person Board meeting each year
  • Three to four virtual Board meetings annually
  • Committee, task force, or special initiative participation
  • Periodic preparation, email discussion, document review, and voting between meetings

Directors are responsible for their own travel and accommodations unless otherwise stated by GSCA. Candidates must be affiliated with a GSCA member organization in good standing and should have the support of their organization to fulfill the commitment.

2027 Board Openings

There are 10 vacant seats on the 2027 GSCA Board.

Seven will be filled through the election:

  • Theaters: 2
  • Production: 1
  • At-Large: 2

Up to three additional directors may be appointed by the Board.

Voting in the 2027 Election

  • Each GSCA member organization is entitled to cast one ballot.
  • Ballot links will be sent to designated voting contacts on Monday, September 28, and voting closes Friday, October 23, 2026.
  • All members are encouraged to review the candidate biographies and statements of purpose and discuss the candidates with their organization’s voting contact.
