GSCA and FDDB Begin a New Collaborative Relationship

The Giant Screen Cinema Association (GSCA) and The Fulldome Database (FDDB) are exploring a new collaborative effort aimed at increasing access to shared resources across the immersive media and giant screen sectors.

This initiative stems from overlapping goals: to improve visibility for films and venues, streamline data sharing, and support professionals working in domes, planetariums, and giant screen theaters worldwide. While the scope of this effort is still evolving, both GSCA and FDDB recognize the value in aligning efforts where there’s mutual benefit for members and the broader industry.

From GSCA

GSCA is pleased to be in conversation with FDDB about ways to improve how industry data is shared and accessed. FDDB has grown into a robust reference point for the fulldome and planetarium community, and their platform may offer new avenues for our members—particularly in content discovery, venue visibility, and broader awareness of immersive media trends.

We’re mindful of the sensitivities around how industry data is used, especially by producers and distributors. At this early stage, we are working to ensure that any collaboration respects those dynamics and remains aligned with GSCA’s mission to serve its members—by increasing access where appropriate, without compromising trust or competitiveness.

As we explore next steps, we’ll continue to evaluate the time and resources required to participate and keep members informed of developments. Tammy Barrett, Executive Director, GSCA
