Shanghai Science and Technology Museum Announces Selected Films for 2026 Science Festival Forum and Film Expo
World’s first giant screen film industry event exhibited on a flat LED screen to showcase eleven acclaimed giant screen films
SHANGHAI, CHINA — This May, Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, in association with the Giant Screen Cinema Association (GSCA), will present the 2026 Science Festival Forum and Film Expo, the first-ever giant screen film industry event showcased on a flat LED screen. Organizers have announced the selected films to be exhibited during this landmark event at Shanghai Science and Technology Museum.
The selected films represent a strong cross-section of today’s giant screen content and will be presented to industry professionals as part of a program that highlights both the enduring strength of the format and the opportunities created by emerging exhibition technologies. The films selected for the Expo are:

This event is more than a technical milestone; it is a market signal. For decades, the giant screen experience has been defined by image projection. The introduction of giant screen LED direct view display at scale, in a 4:3 aspect ratio, and in one of the world’s leading science museums represents a significant shift in exhibition technology.
Together, GSCA, Cinity, and Shanghai Science and Technology Museum represent the convergence of global industry leadership, technological advancement, and institutional vision. This collaboration positions giant screen productions at the center of the LED conversation and helps ensure that filmmakers, distributors, and exhibitors are actively shaping the next chapter of the giant screen experience.
The Film Expo follows GSCA’s first giant screen industry event on an LED full dome, held in September 2025 at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History’s Omni Theater. The next era of giant screen cinema will not be defined by hardware alone. It will be defined by strategy, high standards, and collaboration.
