October 16, 2018—Bob Perkins, President and CEO of Destination
Cinema, Inc. (DCI), is pleased to announce that Thomas Wyss has joined the team
as an advisor. Wyss, a giant screen industry veteran, will be guiding the
distribution of the company’s existing library of films and advising on new
opportunities.
DCI films have broken industry records, received Academy Award
nominations, and been noted by industry professionals as among the top giant
screen films for educational and entertainment value. The films Niagara
Falls, Grand Canyon and Hearst Castle
continue to wow audiences in destination theaters. The audience favorite Mysteries
of Egypt, which has grossed over $100 million in box office revenue, has
been digitally reformatted and is now available in IMAX® Laser and other
digital formats. The film is currently playing at the California Science Center
in Los Angeles, the IMAX Victoria in British Columbia, and the Oregon Museum of
Science and Industry in Portland.
With 17 years of experience in the giant screen industry, Wyss is
thrilled to be representing such iconic films. “After a break, it is good to be
back in this passionate industry,” he said. “And it is great to be associated
with a company willing to develop a distribution model that works for all
parties involved.”
“I can’t wait to see what comes next,” Wyss continued. “There are
so many excellent films in production, it’s an exciting time for all of us
involved—from the filmmakers to the fans.”
In announcing Wyss’ new role, Bob Perkins noted that his
company aspires to create long-term, “win-win” partnerships founded on
integrity and fairness. He stated, “I believe we have found that with Thomas,
and he will bring those same principles to every interaction he has with our
customers.”
