October 8, 2014—A giant 60-foot by 80-foot screen was  installed at the AutoNation IMAX Theater at the Museum of Discovery and Science in Fort Lauderdale on Monday morning. It's considered to be the biggest screen in South Florida. The big screen will span from the ceiling to the floor and wall to wall. Watch the news coverage from WPLG in Miami here.

October 2, 2014—On Wednesday, Paramount and Warner Bros. said theaters still equipped to project 35mm and 70mm film will get Nolan's Interstellar two days early, on Nov. 5, including 41 IMAX locations. Nolan, who has a strong relationship with exhibitors, is a fierce advocate of film, and he's got enough clout with studios to make his passion a reality, but theater owners say the Interstellar experiment sends a confusing message. September 30, 2104—Acclaimed filmmaker Werner Herzog is directing a 3D IMAX film called Volcano. Produced by Spring Films and Werner Herzog Film, the project is one of the first to be partially financed through the recently established IMAX Original Film Fund, a US$50million fund for IMAX-exclusive docs. September 30, 2104—Two Las Vegas-based integrators apply what they’ve learned serving the nightclub and casino markets to benefit themed entertainment projects. Two others are helping the giant screen cinema sector begin its long postponed transition from film to digital, with one of them introducing near-8K resolution for domes. September 29, 2014—In a dramatic rebuke of the traditional theatrical release, Netflix and The Weinstein Co. have signed a deal to release the sequel to Ang Lee's Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon simultaneously on Netflix and in select IMAX theaters around the world. September 29, 2014—The National Media Museum and Picturehouse Cinemas today announced that they will be entering into a commercial cinema partnership from the 31st October 2014. The new partnership—Picturehouse at National Media Museum—will see Picturehouse taking over the operation of the three screens at the Museum—the 300-seat Pictureville (which Lord Puttnam described as "The best cinema in the world"), the 100-seat Cubby Broccoli Cinema and Europe’s first IMAX screen. September 20, 2014—The Giant Screen Cinema Association (GSCA) is pleased to announce the winners of its 2014 Achievement Awards, which recognize excellence in giant screen filmmaking, marketing, and lifelong learning. September 19, 2014—IMAX Corporation  and SMI Corporation Limited, a leading Chinese entertainment and media company that operates theatres under the name Stellar Cinemas, have announced an expansion of the parties' revenue sharing arrangement with the addition of four new IMAX® theatres in China.
