September 18, 2014—After a rigorous RFP process, D3D Cinema has been selected to upgrade the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center’s giant screen theater to digital projection technology. Amazon Adventure Project Awarded Major Grant from U.S. National Science Foundation

Locations Announced for GSCA 2015 Events

September 8, 2104—GSCA is pleased to announce the locations for two events to be held in 2015. The GSCA 2015 Film Expo and Filmmaker Symposium will held in Los Angeles in early March 2015, with the AMC CityWalk as the host theater. Fort Lauderdale AutoNation IMAX 3D Theater Closed for Renovations, Reopens Oct. 13

September 8, 2014—The AutoNation IMAX 3D theater at the Museum of Discovery and Science in Fort Lauderdale is getting an estimated $2 million makeover. The theater closed down last month and is set to reopen Oct. 13 boasting a new 60-foot by 80-foot screen, new luxury seats, a new powerful sound system and digital projectors. Birmingham Giant Screen Cinema at Millennium Point to Close

September 8, 2104—Millennium Point’s Giant Screen Cinema is to close after clocking up ‘very significant losses’ for years. The 70ft by 41ft screen, which has had a checkered history since its launch as a huge IMAX in September 2001, is to shut as a commercial cinema from January.
