November 15, 2016—On Friday, October 7, 2016, the Giant Screen Cinema Association's (GSCA) Technical Committee hosted a digital dome demo in the Shopper's Drug Mart Omnimax Theatre at the Ontario Science Centre in Toronto, Ontario. Evans & Sutherland installed a True8K system using 10 Christie Mirage 304K projectors that, before this demo, had never been demonstrated in a giant screen dome, anywhere in the world. November 14, 2016—We are very sad to report that Benjamin (Ben) Palmer Brunkhardt, 41, of Los Angeles, CA, died August 30, 2016, at KU Hospital after a brief illness. Ben Brunkhardt, Principal of CineXtract, LLC, oversaw the marketing/licensing of his patented “Method for Recomposing Large Format Media,” a post-production process also known as Large Format Negative Repurposing (LFNR).
